The North Carolina Entomological Society host a variety of events throughout the year.  Our largest event is our annual meeting and banquet, which is an excellent place to network with other entomologists from North Carolina.  Entomology students are encouraged to submit posters of their research, and insect photography buffs can submit photos for our photo salon competition. At this event, we also give awards to outstanding students, educators, and professional entomologists.

During the rest of the year, our members gather to catch and observe insects at our light-trapping events.  Members also get discounts to our insect photography workshops.  In 2018, we plan to add a photo bioblitz and spring hike to our series of events.

Our members share their knowledge of entomology at our educational booths at Darwin Day and BugFest at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. In addition, we are working on preparing education resources for science educators who want to study entomology in the classroom. Let us know if you want to volunteer.
